According to the service manual, with any cruise control problems probably the first thing to
check is the stop light switch for resistance in the contacts, but as been mentioned also check the error code the cruise light flashes.
In your case I'm not sure why your ABS light would come on, but once I had a problem with my cruise control where it would sometimes not engage or drop out, and the green cruise light would flash 5 times.
After removing the stoplight switch I found it is a special dual pole unit that has 2 sets of terminals.
2 heavy ones to activate the stoplight, and 2 lightweight ones to control the cruise ECU.
Using a multimeter I discovered a very small resistance of about 4 ohms across the 2 lightweight terminals that turned out to be the problem.
The switch could not be taken apart for cleaning without destroying it, however I submerged it in WD40 and clicked it a few times then let it dry out. I then found the resistance to be zero.
After refitting it my cruise has been fine now for several years.
Hope that helps.
