victorian tracks

Hey guys i'm just wondering we could get a list up of what tracks are around the place and how/when best to get on them?
calder drag strip is easy enough they do regular test and tunes
haunted hills is probably best done with the MR2 club on a club day
what about
winton?
sandown?
phillip island?

im sure im missing some but i thought if we could get them listed it might be a good way of seeing a few more people out there....

Winton: Has test n tune every friday. If you go to a track day, a lot of clubs run days, but if i had to advise against one it would be tempered motorsport days. I'm sorry but 130 cars at a day is way too many.

Track tips (mainly if you have never been on the circuit):
    - It's very bumpy in the braking area of the back straight.
    - Some ripple strips up the back of the circuit have decent drop-offs behind them, so don't go too keen over them.

Phillip island: Awesome awesome circuit. Fast, flowing and fun. PIARC days are some of the best organised.
I'm not too sure on the test days.

Sandown: Good circuit, but not much experience with it.

Clubs that regularly hold events at most vic circuits:
    WRX club
    Maserati Club
    HSV owners club
    Marque Sports

There is also Driverdynamics. They hold days (mainly at Sandown) which you dont need a CAMS license. No timing but you can do it yourself

PIARC are at Phillip Island next weekend. I might be there on the Saturday for the practice day so can let you know what its like. There is no timing on the Saturday but there is on Sunday.

If you dont have a Dorian timer you can normally hire them on the day
You will also need a CAMS license (L2S) which is no big deal to get

There is one in November. If you look on the piarc site all the info will be on there.

I think 180shauny is organizing a group of people to go on the day

You dont need a medical for a L2S license witch is all you need to do these days
You can download a form from here.
Under speed L2S then click on new applications
