Hes well within his rights, nor has he tried to hide the original sale price.

It was a bargain originally, and its still cheaper than what you could build an engine for to this spec anyway.

Ok he is within his rights, but really....... $1000 mark up for more surface rust??? Maybe would have gotten $4500 if he didn't post what he bought it for!

lol, i'm not agreeing with or saying he's going to get it.

but as he hasn't made an effort to conceal the price he bought it for, i'm sure any propective buyer with half a mind is able to deduce whats already been said here.

there are many reasons for possible "mark up" on price. he may be hoping to get more for the motor to cover costs he spent on the vehicle, or he may just auto added the price as commonly he may excpect a whole bunch to over him 1k less of the bat.

you don't know if it has more surface rust, he may have had it delicately wrapped and appropriately coated as he knew it may sit there for a while.

that said, it could've been left out in the rain/drop etc i have no idea.

but basically, as with all sale posts. if your not interested or have anything nice to say (esp when it's stating the obvious) then mind your own business.

thanks just_ace, exactly what I was thinking.

This is a reluctant sale, but will let it go for my asking price. I have another car that can use this thing if no MR2 owner wants it.

Everyone else, refrain from adding more negative comments to my thread. I'm sure I would've got more burnt if I tried to hide the original post.

So if one gets given an item for free/as a gift and no longer requires it, they must give it away also??

If you dont think something offered for sale is good value, dont buy it.

It sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

any recent pics? How long has it sat unused? Has it ever been run before? where has it been kept while unused?

As mentioned, ur pricing is a bit rich and pretty bad move on a forum IMO. We are here to help each other, not rip each other off. My opinion.

no recent pics it's exactly identical to original post only wrapped, unused since purchased in January, never been run since built, only manually turned when I received it, currently wrapped in pallet wrapper in garage.

as mentioned, i didnt want your negative comment on the thread.
definition on ripped off for me is either cheated or overpriced.
overpriced: build this from scratch & i'm sure it will cost more. selling something privately is usually open for negotiation
cheated: i showed the original post, made sure everyone was aware of the markup

Since theres too much flak on this forum, this is no longer for sale.

Well thats your call. This is a lightly moderated forum.

As far as i can see you have been upfront with where/how/why/how much so after everyman and his dog gives their 2c someone may decide if they want to buy it or not. (but of course if its your bat and ball...)
