Coinciedences!

Hi Guys and Gals,

Talk about coincidences!

A bit of background.  I am the former President of MR2SA.  I started the club abour 8 years ago when we first bought our MR2 because there wasn't anything specific to our cars.  I set it up as being a subsiduary of the Victorian MR2 Club which had offices australia wide, we were involved in the TEN/10ths Magazine and we submitted articles.  However, about 6 years ago we started our own business and were unable to give the time to the club that it needed and we left it to the other committee members and it fizzled out.

Last week my husband was driving his MR2 SW20 and passed a group of MR2's on their way through Upper Sturt.

Then Yesterday we found an MR2 Australia business card on our car!

Today, I got a call from someone who had just recently purchased an MR2 and was also given the TEN/10ths magazines, got my number out of the magazine and wanted to know if the club was still running.

I told him that the MR2SA club wasn't running anymore, but there was a new club called MR2Australia and offered him your web page details.  He explained he was an older man who didn't have a computer and could I pass his number on to someone in the SA club who could keep him appraised of the club runs.

So, can someone please make contact and I'll pass his details on (also if you want to hit me up for info, please feel free).

In recent months it seems like quite a few of the MR2 owners in SA have been forming some good new friendships, and organising monthly meets (from what I can gather on this forum).

BTW, this thread would probably be better off in the South Australia section of this forum.

There is an extensive build thread for my car here: http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=18316

    Hi 'SoulSearcher',
Nice of you to show up and provide some background. I actually recall seeing an MR2 coming the other way around the Upper Sturt area too.

The SA MR2Australia is not a "club" as such, but basically just a group of us MR2 enthusiasts who love driving and working on our cars and being social.  We have been steadily growing over the last couple of years where people have come and gone, but the majority of us have been making an effort to get out and do things and stay in touch. We have also been distributing 'MR2 SA' business cards (as you know!) over the last few months around metro Adelaide, to let other MR2 owners know about our actives by linking to this forum. Most of us contribute to the organising of meets and social activities on SA MR2Australia and we have made all efforts to hold monthly meets on the second Sunday of every month. There has been talk about reviving the club in the future but I think at the moment, we're happy to build up a good foundation first and just enjoy our cars.

I'm happy for you to pass his details to me by email: miljy008@live.com.au

PS: as robk said, all communications are in the South Australia section on this forum
    http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tt.aspx?forumid=87 ;)

    Cheers,
    Josh

You know I think this is the first actual response we've had from one of our cards.

Great to see you on here SoulSearcher, do you plan on coming to one of our next meets?
