EOI: September Overnighter in Victor Harbour
Just one of many thoughts that came up on the weekend - who would be up for doing a 2-day run around the area? Based at Victor Harbour for the Saturday night, and 2 runs around the area and maybe another activity in between? Got a few ideas in mind but it'd be cool to get a show of interest from people. Maybe some VIC members would like to make a trip up to join in???

YEP, I would be up for it. Hopefully the weather starts to improve, should be great by then. I also am going to suggest a day out at Mallala, I will post info regarding 2012 open day etc. One other thing - 2 way radio's, is anyone going to purchase one / set? I have a twin pack of Uniden's, does not need to be anything special just your norm UHF 40 channel, makes cruises so much easier when all have open communications.

Yeah I'll have a look around for a set of UHF radios. I'm keen for this Victor trip too.

I'd be keen, as long as it didn't cost too much. I reckon grabbing a house to rent for the night would be the best option. How many people do we think we might get? something like this will do for up to 6 people... http://www.stayz.com.au/1...2F2012&numNights=1 $20 each if we had 6. Not bad at all.

This something I would love to do, however September is probably not going to suit me with getting married and all that month. The lead car and the tail car really are the only ones that NEED a radio. Simple rule of always keeping the MR2 behind you in your mirror that applies to all but the tail car works very well, and means there is no need to be pulling over. It's ok to have the group stretched out points, as long as each of us can see the MR2 behind us. Even with this setup, radios are not essential

A (party) house for a night sounds good to me guys, agreed much friendlier on the wallet too - Good find Tim. Re radio - yeah I concur Scott that only the lead and tail car NEED one. I think carmikey already has a pair, but I still might grab that cheap set on ebay anyway.

Maybe we can organise a meeting later this month over a beer somewhere to discuss options and come up with a confirmed venue? :)

yeah, I agree, the share house would be the best bang for buck. On the other note (Radios) yeah I already have a pair & have used them for past 5 yrs for cruises etc. Happy to lend & use mine if no one wants to purchase any.

yeah looks good, although depending on dates, I may be in either woomera or port augusta, but fingers crossed everything works out to my way (never does in the army) and I can come down to this. As for the radios, I have a small one already that I used in qld for many cruises..
