AW11 Tyre and wheel size advice needed from Adub masters

Hello all,

So i've decided to change the wheels on my AW11 to a set of the replica old skool wheels that seem popular these days.
Basically i'm getting 15x8 +25 front and rear. http://www.stancewheels.com/wheels/stance-wheels/emotion-black-machined
What I'm not sure about is what tyre sizes to go for. I've noticed some people go with 205/50 on all four, some 195/45 on all four and other combinations.
The car has a gen3 3sgte in it so I need more grip than the average AW11. I definately want a grippy 205/50 in the back but was thinking of a 195/50 in the front to help with fitment.
I think the car is standard height, not 100% sure though. If its not I will eventually lower it a little.

What do you Adub masters recommend? I think a few of you on here run 15x8 +25

Cheers,
Nick

Hey Nick! I had those same sizes. Your tyre selection would be correct. Needed a 195/50 for the front clearance. 205 rear would be perfect.

The link doesn't work btw. Which Axis OG wheels are you getting?

Best fitment pic I have on hand with those offset/size.

    Hey Jay,

The link seems to be working for me through my work laptop and smart phone?
The wheels are branded 'Stance' They are the same wheel as the Axis OG Old Skool in black/machined. http://www.axiswheels.com/view-wheel/og-oldskool
The fitment looks good on yours, did you have to roll the guards at all?

Yeah, the fitment is perfect up front. The rear probably had a bit of room for 5mm more IMO, but with the fatter tyre you're proposing though will be perfect. Front would rarely scrub without rolled guards. So a quick roll should see that issue eliminated (wasn't annoying without though). Btw, I was not running any additional camber.

Those rims will look perfect on yours. Gold or silver/black centre? Btw, I saw a few running without the centre cap & nice lug nuts.....looked wayy better!

Cheers for the help with this Jay.
195 front and 205 rear is the go then. I'l get Federal 595RSR from Gorilla Industries along with the wheels.
I was going to get the gold centres but ended up going with the silver/black which I think will suit the silver/white paint colour on the car.
The gold looks good on your old one with the grey/white paint though.

What sort of nice lug nuts are you referring too? I was just goin to get some basic chrome or black ones.

Gold will look pretty darn good on yours too, would be a nice contrast esp with your more champagne type paint. The lugs I was referring to was a mix (2 golf 2 silver - being 4stud & all). Without the centre cap, it made it look a lot better than I expected (saw a few like that @ meets).

With silver/black centre, you're better off with the basic chrome though.

Your car will now be annoying awesome!!!

I agree the gold could look awesome but I think I'm just going to go with my original gut feeling that the silver will suit it.  Plus they have already been ordered.

With the lugs I haven't actually checked what is on the car now, might remove the centre cap thingies off the current wheels and see whats there when I get home. Might already have chrome ones.

I'm looking foward to the comfort that comes with the 15s over the current 17s :)
