AW11 Headroom.

Out of all three Aw11 roof types, do sunroof models have the least headroom? I'm just over 6ft tall and have trouble with hitting my head on the trim around the sunroof.
Has anyone removed a sunroof and replaced it with a standard roof?

im pretty sure out of the three the targa tops have the least headroom, however, targa top I sat in was a super edition so it has different seats. The roof skin is a weld in job afaik so its probably more cost effective to buy a bucket seat with a low rail. At your height i dont really see it being a problem unless you need to wear a helmet for track days

    sunroof has the least headroom.
cant see any issues with unpicking it for a hardtop. just a bit of a project. only bits i see you'd need are the roofskin, central support piece, and headliner.
i know of an AW11 in australia that went full roof conversion to targa, but im sure theres been many around the world going to hardtop for weight/racing reasons..

I've only had mine for a few months, It's a hard top! no worries with head room but I'm still yet to find a comfortable seat position. Wouldn't want to drive it for more than 2.5 hrs consistently. I'm probably just over 6 foot myself.

I have owned all 3 types and wrecked out all 3 types or roof tops. The sunroof has the least room due to the strip/trim around roof lining.A hardtop will have a minor bit more room due to the roof lining being flexible.A targa top will give you all the room you need - if you want to stick your head out in the wind.
If your interested in putting a targa roof on your car, give me a yell.I have a targa roof cut out the backyard as a spare for mine. Will consider selling it.
Personally,I think trying to lower your seat would be the easiest/cheapest option.
I must agree with na/sdub...the seating position can be a problem. For me,I find that the rear of seat feels like it is a lot lower than the front of seat.
I will try to add a pic of an AW11 with lots of headroom.
                                   Thank you....skip.

That looks like the ultra rare 36GTRsTiE AW11. The "36" relating to how much it weighs(36kg). By all accounts the handling was crap and Ks per Ltr was rubbish. This would be the later model with the quad Kumho suspension.
Thanks for your help, I'll have a look at getting the seats lowered.
Sorry to all for using the wrong forum heading.
