trustworthy mechanic - southeast melbourne

Hey Guys,

anyone know of a competent mechanic down cranbourne/berwick/dandenong way?

I think i've had a hose split or come out underneath the turbo somewhere. Was driving home friday night and saw steam coming out the back, pulled over, and noticed it was dripping on the gearbox under the turbo... im guessing its either one of the turbo water pipes or maybe a leak in the main coolant lines. It's going to be a pain to get to but shouldn't be majorly complex to fix.

problem is i'm moving and will need to have the car towed/to a mechanic in the next week or so.

thought about taking it to toyota cause at least they SHOULD know the car but it's been screwed up by a couple of toyota dealerships now...and that was when it was standard. it WON'T be going to the same place at cranbourne that told me my oil pressure was fine right before my pump needed changing.

The guys here Swear by IDB in richmond and there is another one next door.

Most of my dealing have been with Seeker Motorsports in Clayton, predominately because they are personal friends of mine and use the same office as Motorkitz. I get discount parts from them and only pay trade price and able to use their equipment.

Another race guy i use was in dandenong for dyno tuning was Mike's Dyno Tuning, where i got my first dyno tune on my crappy NA.

Hope that helps without sounding to marketing.

Chequered Tuning in Dandenong but I think they only do tuning, maybe they can recommend a good place nearby.
Twos mechanics I go to are:
IWIM Motors, Clayton - handles my engine related stuff. Good price especially for mid engines since he owns a Ferrari lol
Sabbadin Automotive, Mulgrave - Always flocked with JDMs here, Rob's a great guy always willing to have a chat, have dynos and exhaust fab work. My "mod" mechanic

Yeah Chequered Tuning only tune now, and will recommend someone in Clayton but cant remember the name
Get in contact with Redmr2red for the name of the mechanic in Lace st Doveton that he uses. He has also sent a few other people with Mr2s there.
There is also Lee from Unique Star in Dandenong South that I can recommend

I can also give you a number for a tow truck driver if you need

ended up sending it to HPF... the rubber hose to the oil cooler had cracked and there were a couple of other dodgy ones.... all replaced... good to go.
