Ultra Racing 4 point REAR upper brace

Just wondering if anyone has used one of these before and are there any fitment issues on an SW20 turbo?

The UK guys seem to be all over them.

They look the goods and they're a pretty good price for a 4 point brace, and seems much better than the stock  X brace.

Any feedback would be appreciated

cheers

I dont really see this being any different to the standard cross brace with a strut bar.  The brace location points should be closer to the struts to be more effective.

I see what you mean, I just would have thought that one item would be more rigid than two separate pieces? the standard X brace is pretty thin flimsy tubing anyway.

Prefer the TRD brace, as it links each of the towers together at the actual points, and is reinforced at the X join for strength.

Well they're both completely different designs. I can see how the TRD is more 'direct' from the firewall to the strut towers but the UR one has that bar the goes along the firewall between the mounting points, the TRD doesn't.

Agree, but I dont think that the bar linking the 2 points near the window would actually achieve much.  And this is off set by what is poor placment of the other points.

All well and good to have that extra reinforcement but if it's not connecting directly to the strut towers it seems kind of flawed

    Triangles are stronger than squares.

The TRD look so much better as well.

Linking the two moutning points is kinda useless given they're along the firewall anyway which will already provide those two points rigidity.think when a car flexes, there won't be a lot of travel along two points close together in the centre of the car, compared to two points on opposing sides.

Refer the pictures, the middle of the X is reinforced:

TRD clears the cusco piping IIRC.
