torquing crank bolt
Hello,
I managed to get the crank bolt of a 3sgte gen 2 from a MR2 which is on a stand with a tool which holds the pulley in place, which is similar to this
http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2m.../pulleybolttool/01.JPG
I was wondering how I would torque the bolt if I dont have an impact gun, or could i just use a cheater bar to tighten it and that would be enough (tightening the bolt using the tool that I used to get the bolt off).
I have a kinchrome 1/2 inch drive torque wrench which does up to around 200 nm which I could use. My concern is that when I got the bolt of I used a cheater bar on the breaker bar, and usure if using a cheater bar on the kinchrome will affect the torquing.

Would hiring a quality electric impact be an option or if you go down the impact gun route would you need an air compressor for it to torque the bolt effectively?

You shouldnt need an extension bar on the torque wrench to get it to the right torque.

Are you trying to stop he crank from spinning while torquing? As above, its not a big torque requirement, you can brace the crank with a crowbar via the ring gear on the flywheel, something like this:
