My Adub

/copy and pasted from other forum

Hello All

Guess Ive returned to the light side once more. haha

I love Mid engine cars I always have and always will.

It was my greatest regret when I had to sell it but I knew it would get me in more trouble (I already lost my license at the time).

I even wrote a essay on the car back then haha

how has life been treating you for me my life couldn’t be any better ~ I’ve suffered from depression for about 2 years but now in the couple of months I think I broke thru thanks to one thing: AW11

WTF is an AW11? You might be thinking. So I shall educate you. The AW11 was the first generation of the Toyota MR2; some may argue the best compact sports car Toyota created. It was in production from 1984 to 1988 in that time it one quite a few Awards from Mags like the US Publication "Road and Track” and even Australia's track magazine gave its thumbs up in 1988.

Though it never really got that popular over here in Australia, it still remains very popular in Europe particularly in the UK where they Still hold track days just for this model only which is pretty cool considering the model is over 20 years old!

But why was it so popular? Well.l it was the first mid engine Production Car produced by a Japanese Auto Industry and it was a Winner from the Start. Though a popular Myth, that the car was designed by Lotus this is only partly true as Toyota's Akio Yoshida designed most of it, a engineer from Lotus came in and designed the Handling aspects of the car in which he did a kick ass job doing so.

From a drivers point of view you cant help but have a smile on your face and in your heart each time you attack a corner, cruising the high way or even going down to get some fish and chips there that fun. It is true; that you feel like You driving a Go Kart (but then again I use a very small Nardi S/Wheel)... its like the car is a part of your body you feel what its feeling and you can control with a spark from the brain with precision.

It has always been a dream of mine to be a Racer Ive always like Cars though I could never afford a good one but over the past 6 months my life has changed for the better Im now Living my dream . Now Ive got a new lease on Life and its thanx to my MR2.

I knew one day I will own another one and guess what, something arrived in the mail.

They are a terrific car, i love mine to bits although i wish i forked out more and got the supercharged one.

Always driven large cars the Aw11 is certainly fun and even though it lacks outright power its go kart feel is brilliant through the hills and always brings a smile to my face!

What plans do you have for it?

I miss my SC. If only I owned it @ a younger age, when I was in a position to bring it to near perfection & only worry about keeping it there.

+1 about what your plans are....
