TVIS elimination
Hey all, Hoes anybody know of any company that makes and sells tvis elimination plates for a bigport 4age?? I can't gut the standard tvis plate, as i don't have one, and would rather buy a pre made unit rather than buy a tvis setup and modify it. Cheers

Well ive have had mine gutted, i will have another one to be gutted soon, i have never herd of a blank plate been made from somone or a company selling them, otherwise i would of bought that straight up, i was going to get a block of metal and have it laser cut, but the cost is huge, for it its cheaper to buy a tvis and gut it urself, then take it to a shop to be port matched??

ATS do the phenolic replacements for the 3S, might be worth an email asking whether they can do them for a 4A. Also I knew there used to be some for sale on US ebay back when I had a Corolla, but a look now reveals nothing unfortunately.

Yeah, i remember they used to be common to find a few years back, but now i have had to switch to a n/a stock manifold to get my car up and running, i can't find any. Domma, the closest you can get that i know of is the T3 bigport to smallport adapter. These allow you to run the high comp manifold on the bigport head, and are the same thickness as the stock tvis plate. I'm pretty sure it would work out about the same amount of effort to grind out the adapter to be bigport all the way, just was trying to get away with not going down that route. Thanks for the input guys.

Well, i contacted T3 in the end and they have always done a TVIS delete plate, it just hasn't been up on the website, they have just recently added it. https://technotoytuning.c...-port-big-port-adapter This would be an awesome start for making a custom intake manifold as well, as it is a nice, high quality machined flange. I might end up getting a second one further down the track for this very purpose.

Knightrous, that is the most well executed modification to a TVIS plate i have seen in my looking around when toying with the idea, i take my hat off to you on that. Of all the machines and equipment i have access to, a mill is not one of them. I was also too lazy to track down a TVIS plate, hence i have gone the current route. In temporarily converting my car to N/A while i save up for the last few bits and pieces to do my turbo setup, and to get the car on the road again after killing the supercharger, i didn't want to spend the time either, as i am already messing around switching to a mitsubishi evo throttle body for a more effective idle control setup, marginally bigger blade for when i go turbo, and the advantage of it bolting straight up (after you wind the stud out of the manifold and use a bolt instead.)

10mm alloy plate, rough it out using a jigsaw / drills, then using (carefully) a high power router with a carbide flush cutting bit mould it using the oem tvis... easy as and a finish like it was cnc'ed - this is how I made my water pump plate and it's perfect....
