Haunted Hills Practice day - Information Thread.
Everyone who is attending should have received an email with details of the driving schedule and route to Haunted HillsMost of that information in duplicated here for convienience.
To all Haunted Hills MR2 club practice day attendees, only five days to go!
We will go ahead whatever the weather, predicted forecast is for 27 and storms so pack sunscreen, a hat and an umbrella!
Drivers do not forget your Helmet and wrist to ankle non-flammable (cotton or wool) clothing! There are excellent facilities at Haunted Hills to view the circuit from under cover should we get precipitation.
Here is the preliminary schedule and driver listing, please check your name is there, if it isn't contact
events@mr2club.com.au ASAP!

All co-driven vehicles have driver schedules arranged so there is a full free session for changeover between each driver.
If there is a serious problem with the schedule please contact me (email rlham at hotmail dot com) and I will try to help.
If you wish to be in another group, please contact someone from the group you wish to swap to, agree with them, and THEN contact me.
In order for the day to run smoothly can everyone please make every effort to be on-time at each stage of the day, particularly first thing in the morning for the driver briefing and parade reccy lap where wish wish to take a group photo of all 40+MR2s attending.
Details for the for the cruise to Haunted Hills will be in your email, although you are free to get there in your own way if you wish.
98Octane fuel is available from the nearby BP

You are free to drive to Moe at your own pace, there will be two club cars tailing the group to pickup anyone who isn't sure where to go.
See the attached Streetview photo of the correct Moe turnoff.

We will arrive at HH around 9 when the gates will opened. See attached map of the HH pit area.
Everyone should quickly find a spot to park and find Rob Larson's signin table who will give you your sticker and wristband for the day.
Be ready for driver briefing by the Scrutineering huts at 9:20.
After driver briefing we will have a slow parade sighting lap on the circuit for all cars, after this we will ask all the MR2s to do another lap and form a grid on the back straight of the circuit for what should be a spectacular group photo.
Passengers are allowed at any time, like Drivers they are
required to wear wrist to ankle non-flammable clothing (cotton or wool) and a Helmet.Cameras are welcome thoughout the day but please exercise due caution if your are a passenger on the circuit using a camera, a secure wrist strap is a good safety measure.
There may be many people walking in the pit area including children throughout the day, keep all driving while in the pits to walking pace.
At 9:40 the first group will start lapping at speed, although we encourage everyone to start at a moderate pace and work their way up to more speed.
Haunted Hills is without doubt a challenging and unforgiving circuit and sadly some cars damaged at last years event are still not back on the road.
Remember this is a FUN untimed non-competitive event, and should be treated as such.
At 12:20 we will break for a light lunch that your entry fee includes. (tea/coffee and snacks will be available to buy at the circuit canteen through the day)
13:00 lapping will resume.
The 52 drivers are divided into 4 groups of thirteen. Groups have a colour Black, Blue, Red and Green/Yellow, we will have coloured wristbands and stickers to put on your windscreen to identify which group you are in.
Group Leaders should hopefully be able to answer most question you have throughout the day.
Each group will have 20min sessions to lap the circuit one at a time. With luck and no incidents we should get through four sessions for each group. Two cars (the 2nd car being released as car 1 gets halfway) are allowed on track at a time and will be controlled by a flag person at the start line.
The next group scheduled should assemble by the scrutineering sheds 5min before session start for a quick changeover.
If you are in the currently running group and lining up another lap close to a session ending time please do the right thing and not creep into the next groups time, park your car and wait for your next session. I hope everyone will be satisfied with the ammount of laps you will get thoughout the day, there should be no need to hog the track. After lunch the decision will be made whether to combine groups or run free practive. At this time we may also consider switching to the challenging Figure 8 configuration circuit. If we do this we will rerun a slow parade lap.
Passengers are free to ride in lapping cars at any time HOWEVER MUST also wear a helmet and neck to ankle fire resistant fabric (cotton or wool)
Marshalls from the Gippsland Car Club who operate haunted hills and the St Johns Ambulance shall be in attendance, please comply with all their requests with due respect, likewise all the facilities the GCC have made available to us.
Remember to have fun, keep it shiney side up and be considerant to officials and the other participants.
