I tried to get an online quote and I cant select my model being a 94 factory turbo coupe they don't list it. I imagine if I called to try and get a quote over the phone I would be told the same thing that all the other insurance companies tell me and that is they don't cover imports.

So far my only option is Shannons I was originaly with Just Car but they got dissolved back into Shannons.

My JDM 90 GT came up.

It says on their website that if it isn't listed to email them and they will add it.

I was with Shannons for years, but they don't offer third party fire and theft and their full comp was getting to expensive for a car I don't drive.

These guys are ~$200 full comp with salvage rights, which would be close to my 3rd party fire and theft policy with RACV.

Is yours a targa I did notice they listed the turbo targa so I might have to send them an email and I might be lucky.
I agree shannons can be expensive but I am happy to have full comprehensive on mine, I will send these guys an email though and compare them as it would be nice to have an option.

    Yeah turbo targa.

I'm only hesitant as I don't know what their claim process is like etc.

I still have my home and contents with Shannons and have done a few claims. They were awesome about it.

I just got a full comprehensive quote through them for our Mini as that was listed and their price was almost double what we currently pay so that was disappointing.
I also sent them an email to see if they can add the turbo coupe option for the MR2 I will be curious to see what it comes back with.

I guess the one thing to look into that may give you an idea as to how what they will be like when it comes to claims is to look into who underwrites them.

I looked into this company for insurance a few years ago, at the time they wouldn't insure the car if it was for daily use, so I went elsewhere.  Not sure if anything has changed since then, but make sure to read the fine print...

I use them, they are underwrited by AssetInsure
I'm on limited use < 5000km per year and i have to sent them a photo of the odometer reading every year.
and fixed market costs, its half the price of the family sedan i use. All the mods i have on the MR2 is also listed accordingly.
