EFI. Relay in engine bay fuse box.

Gen3 Turbo engine that I'm trying to get back to original with OEM ECU.
Have the intank fuel pump on it's own separate circuit.
The problem is that the original EFI relay is getting very hot just on normal cruise conditions.
Anyone with knowledge as to why this relay would be acting up or whether it is normal to be so hot.
I have replaced it with a new same capacity relay with the same result.
It's temperature is high enough to burn your finger in less than half a second
OEM standard Gen3 coil and igniter and ECU.

As I'm aware Doug, they all get very hot, which seems to be quite normal.... Go figure!

    Thanks Mike.
This does seem excessive though. It was shutting down the engine prior to moving the fuel pump to a separate circuit. Carrying two spares in an esky to swap in when it overheats! Trying to discover if there is something else
on that EFI circuit causing the overload?? ANYONE ?

Knowing you I'm sure you've had a look at the wiring diagram?

    Might give you some leads?

Nah. General consensus seems to be that that EFI relay just does run bloody hot.
