AW11 no dash lights with ignition on.

I'll try and make it short. I've just finished wiring in my coil packs on my N/A AW11 running Megasquirt DIYPNP.

However, I'm no longer getting any lights on my dash when turning the ignition on and the ECU doesn't receive any RPM reading while cranking (which might be unrelated though but at least I want my dash lights back on first).

Usually I turn the key, and the hazards blink until I press the immobilizer button. Then I get dash lights (battery only as I've removed the bulb for the engine light) and I can crank the engine.

Now however I hear the fuel pump start and the ECU fires up fine but I'm not getting any lights on my dash other than handbrake, but I can crank the engine so I think the immobilizer is working. I did notice them flicker a bit before turning off though the last time I saw them.

Any ideas? Cheers

what else have you changed in the engine loom while wiring up the MS?

    Hmm let's see...
    • MAF delete with the fuel pump jumpered at the MAF connector
    • Tacho signal from the ECU to DIY tacho booster to the dash
    • Smallport dizzy with custom wiring straight from the dizzy to the ecu
    • Coil pack harness getting with signal wiring straight to the ecu, grounded to chassis and power taken from the VAST connector in the engine loom.
Possibly some other things as well. Thing is I had it running with the same config as now except I took the power to the coil packs straight from the battery. It was only after tidying up my wiring this happened.

I'll check over it again however I did notice that if I plug the factory ECU back in both the check engine light and charge light light up when triggering the immobilizer. And when swapping back to the Megasquirt they no longer do, even if I don't have any external inputs connected to the MS, just the factory harness.

Does anyone know what normally triggers those lights? I've got a feeling them not being triggered is related to why I'm not getting any RPM signal when cranking.
