Engine machining - Line honing crank tunnel. Main studs vs main bolts.

I am looking at getting my block machined and using ARP main studs, and have been advised to get the crank tunnel line honed.
Has everybody else had this done with their builds? There is a bit of debate on the US forums about it, but just curious to see what others have done and why. Apparently if I use main bolts, this isn't necessary, but I would've thought the ARP studs are alot stronger than OEM main studs. The reason it is done is due to the difference in torque applied which can make the crank tunnel flex and be out of round.

Your engine machinist should be able to tell you if it is out of line and needed even using stronger studs doesn't fix it you just end up putting more strain on the crank by trying to pull it out of alignment
Bottom line is if your sending the block away to get machined I would get it done anyway

    Thanks.
I may not reach the power threshold, but as I already have the studs, and for peace of mind I will spend the extra $$ and get it done. It is the most expensive machining item. Another machinist was also adamant it would be required, i just haven't seen much mention of it on build threads.

I had mine tunnel bore honed as i run arp main studs, i also had my bores torque plate honed. Some engine builders/machinists seem to have different views on it i have found, and it is usually based on what there main experience is working with.
