MR2 Gen 2 3sgte -Upgrade fuel rail and injectors

Hi guys,

Looking for an upgraded fuel rail and injectors to suit my car. Looking for 600cc injectors at least.

Any suggestions? I dont like the thought of sourcing these from the USA where they appear to be available.

Thanks in advance. 0401137787

Do you want side feed or going to move to top feed?
Think Ben_77 has an upgraded factory side fuel rail from memory. What state are you in?
Are you running an aftermarket ecu to control the injectors or had a dyno match you for 600cc injectors and want low impedance injectors?

You can get the standard fuel rail bored out and use Sard 800cc injectors. Off the top of my head Road and Track in Ipswich will bore the rail for you, its a small enough part that you could send it to them without to much hassle.

The 800cc injectors which are the largest you can use in a side feed rail are $435 for a set of 4 on rhdjapan atm so I'd say you could get away with spending $500-550 all up if you do the work yourself. Although you'd probably want to do the fuel pump at the same time too.

The injectors listed by rhdjapan are high impedance injectors for the 800cc. The 3sgte gen 3 540cc and the gen 2 injectors are low impedance right? Will running the high impedance ones cause an issue or does a resistor pack need to be installed in between or anything?

    My opinion.
Unless your tuner / dyno is telling you you're running lean, and what size injectors you need, then leave this one alone or get them to do it.
Yes you will need low impedance injectors to run off a stock ecu. However they will have to be matched exactly to your aftermarket turbo / all your upgrades to keep air/fuel mix correct. Your upgrading your injectors cause you upgraded your turbo but the characteristics of airflow curve will not match the stock ect mapping, so you need a way to control them. If you run a piggyback ECU it can correct the tune marginally. Ultimately you need an aftermarket ecu to remap the injectors to all your mods (done by a dyno tuner).
Once you upgrade injectors a list of things come with it to be done, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulator, tuning tuning.
So refer to your professional tuner, maybe get your injectors serviced and high flowed based on your boost levels to marginally increase. If you have done extensive mods :) and have an aftermarket ecu then you can run high or low impedance.
