Not answering your question directly....
Upgrading the turbo compressor wheel and boring out (high flow etc 50 trim 60 trim etc)....Turbos, from my learnings and continuing learnings, has so many variables.
Replace what you had with what was there, unless you are chasing more power. You want more power but a upgrade of turbo may not achieve, instead simply shift the power curve or possibly lessen power. If only upgrading the turbo, liable to end your engine life sooner.
Couple of questions for yourself that will define your answers; what are you going to spend?
What other upgrades have you done / will you do in conjunction with the turbo upgrade?
Where do you want the upgrade in power curve and what are you using the power for (drag racing, street, sprint racing).
Whatever you upgrade it needs to be balanced with other upgrades. If you upgrade turbo (air) you need to upgrade to ensure it arrives cooled (intercooling), you need to ensure it has matched fuel pressure/delivery, adequate flow for the increased turbo airflow, and other factors.
Don't think you can cheat the equation, ends in blowing up your engine from leaning it off from lack of fuel or hot air or waste of money as you don't achieve more power. That's my 2 cents worth :)
