Shorter runners tend to reduce low end torque and power, as they are suited to high rpm flow.
So they suit drag/track work, or when your turbo/cam selection isnt at all efficient until the upper half of your rev range. Side effects on the street can make it a bit sluggish moving off from lights and pottering around in daily driving.
