You didn't get any brake fade or anything? I've run a few events with a 94 Turbo and never lost any oil at all. So probably not a good thing in 3 x 20min sessions. Your either leaking oil somewhere or its burning it, but if its burning that much oil you will definitely smell it. Lucky you didn't spin a big end, if you were cornering at good speeds and lost a liter of oil, you should have spun a bearing, doesn't take much in the older MR2's.

No brake big fade. May be felt some on the 3rd run but wasn't big deal. For the oil I did have oil in the plugs when I first got it 2 months ago. I thought rocket gasket but then I found all the screws on the cover were all lose. I fixed that then drove the car pretty hard then checked the plugs there was no more oil . But had some oil leak coming from the top I think. Still but wasn't a lot to worry about. I just checked the plugs and now there is oil on them again 2nd and 3rd. Gave them a clean and drive the car again. The car still drive fine and can't smell any oil burning. Had oil leak under it again. I think oil comes back when I don't drive it for a week or so. No smoke or smell. You think the damage is been done.

Na you'll be fine. You know when you spin a bearing, motor will be seized plus you can hear it tearing up the crank before seizing. Your motor has some kind of issue if your getting oil in the cylinders, either rings or valve seals or possibly head gasket.

"Had oil leak under it again". Danti, things I found to check for engine oil leaks are: Flywheel end Coming from above: Rear edge of the cam cover, or distributor seal (could be inner or outer), Coming from lower down - rear crankshaft seal. Timing gear end Rear edge of the cam cover where oil drips onto the alternator, or leaking camshaft seals where the oil runs down from the lower edge of the timing belt cover but doesn't drip on the alternator. Oil in the plug cavities obviously comes from the cam cover gasket.

if its rings or possibly head gasket wouldn't car over heat or blow smoke or drop in power. but it doesn't do any of them. power is the same. on and of the track the temp never went over half. just have to check the oil leaks and fix them. can i take it for another track day and just take some extra oil with me ??

If it is using a bit of oil make sure you check the level often. My owner's manual says to check it just after switching off after the motor has been running, when it should be up to the top of the crosshatch on the dipstick (full mark) The oil drains back into the sump overnight so if it is only up to the full mark on the dipstick in the morning before cold startup, it will be down near the bottom of the crosshatch after you start the motor.

love it and cant wait to do it again. the car went very well for std everything accept new federal rsr tyres. the only thing it needs is straight line power. handled very well. i thought i was doing well around corners with other faster cars like Golf GTI, 86 Toyota and more. just need to sort my oil leak.

When you say oil on the plugs are you talking about the firing side or the outside down the plug tubes? I thought you talking about the firing side?

Danti Sydney Motorsport full track. The car went very well but lost almost 1 litre of oil. I don't think that's normal is it ?.

Ohh also when your saying you are losing 1 litre of oil then it comes back, were you checking the oil level when cold, then checking the oil level when hot before the oil drains back to the sump?

I did it when it was cold not hot. I don't think it's burning the oil can't smell it or see any smoke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
