Should my HDi electronic boost controller solenoid click continously?

Well I noticed recently now that my HDi electronic boost controller solenoid clicks rapid as soon as I turn the ignition key on but the car not started. It never did that before, it would normally click every second or 2 with the engine running.
Is this normal or is something wrong with the unit?
