2016 Interclub Challenge

Hi guys,

Thought the MR2 Club may be interested in the 2016 Interclub Challenge.  There is a meeting tomorrow night (Wed 28th Oct) 7.30pm at the MG Car Club rooms at 8/16 Collinsvale Street, Rocklea to plan the calendar for next year and the organisers have advised that the MR2 Club would be most welcome to come along and help with the planning and even host one of the events if interested.  This years events included Autocross, Motorkhanas, Night Observtion Runs, Mt Cotton Hill Climb, sprints, skid pan and regualrity trials - great fun and fantastic way to learn car control.  Clubs involved this year included WRX, MX5, BMW, Alfa, MG, Porsche, Lotus, Z-Car, HSV and HSCCQ.  Would be great to see some MR2's next year.  The contact tomorrow night is Ken Philp or otherwise contact me if you want more info.

Regards,

Graham

Graham, do you have a link to a single interclub challenge calendar? I noticed 'interclub' mentioned a number of club calendars (eg. MGCCQ & HSCC), including a tentative Night Observation run with the MR2 Club later in the year!

If there isn't a consolidated list available I'll make something up from the other various Club calendars for our reference.

Had a great day at the lotus icc as the one and only MR2. Where were you all? I don't think I got too many points for the club. Unless they award bonus points for drifting.
The club should seriously think about holding an event there, it suits thr MR2 and is easy to drift 😂

Sorry Roger, I was planning to attend but didn't finish ordering part to rebuild the starter motor last week.  Steve Johns (blue 1300 Esprit Sports) mentioned you were expecting some company, I dragged the kids along to Southbank instead.

Looks like a good circuit and great day in general, I definitely have to go to the ICC Mount Cotton Hillclimb in May, ICC Regularity at Lakeside in June and ICC Sprints at Morgan Park? in July.

Sign me up! I'd be keen to do a variety of events with my new MX5. My current CAMS club membership (IWMAC) is about to expire anyway, so if you guys are CAMS affiliated  that would be perfect.

At this stage the Queensland club isn't CAMS affilliated sorry... Just comes down to cost and benefits.

Definitely something we want to look into though!
