Yeah, I really like the look of Dudeman's Hardtop.. only problem is, I'm green P's and in order to drive a turbocharged car I need a moderately powered vehicle exemption -- which requires the car to be registered. I'd rather not buy the car, register it and then find out my application to drive a turbo has been rejected. Which is why if the car comes with current rego, I can send away an application before buying the car :)

I didn't know the turbo model was P-plate legal. I thought it was way over the 125kw/t limit?

Well, according to some spec sheets I managed to find, it says that the 1990 GT has 149kW @ 6000rpm. Divide that by the kerb weight (1251kg) and multiply by 1000 gives 119kW/t..
Which is how QR instructs to calculate it.
Also, I think redbook also had MR2s running stock at 200hp = 149kW

However, I'd prefer a non turbo

Redbook is quite inaccurate from what I've ever used it for. But I'm pretty sure the turbo models make 220hp-ish, 200 seems quite lackluster considering the n/a motors can be 173hp stock (such as my 3rd gen 3sge). I could be wrong though, not like I own a turbo engine or anything haha
But if you haven't got much time left on your Ps, wait it off and get a GT. I bought a Bathurst just after I got my greens, and I love it but I know I'll be swapping it for a turbo later down the track

i would highly recommend starting in an NA car.
Do what I did and work on the suspension/handling and braking, do trackdays and get fast (i'm not quite there yet :P), then work on power.
Gotta learn how to handle the snap oversteer too, its not as bad with only 120whp haha
