SEPTEMBER IS COMPETITION MONTH IN QUEENSLAND
SEPTEMBER IS COMPETITION MONTH IN QUEENSLAND Following on from the success of the Nationals 2015 track day at Willowbank the Club has by default made September this year "Competition Month" with a wide range of competition activities on almost every weekend.
Cootha Classic Hill Climb - Saturday 5 September 2015 A Club member, the ever enthusiastic and competitive Ben77, has succeeded with his MR2 to gain an entry to represent the Club as one of the 100-only cars participating in the famous Cootha Classic Hill Climb. Club members will be making up Ben's pit crew and we hope to show the expected thousands of spectators at the event what a well prepared MR2 can really do. We all wish Ben and the crew the best of luck and hope to see a trophy appear.
If you'd like to know what the Cootha Classic is all about then check out the website below:

Diabetes Australia Hot Pursuit Challenge - Sunday 13 September 2015 A few months ago the Club was offered a special deal to attend the "Hot Pursuit Challenge" which is a day at the Mt Cotton Advanced Driver Training Facility supporting Diabetes Australia. As we probably all know someone living with diabetes this event seemed a great way to help the great charity work done by that organisation.
This event is described as "a Top Gear type of skid, brake, swerve and accelerate around a world class driver training circuit in a range of new cars provided by Toyota including the Toyota 86 as well as an Excel Cup race car. Test skills and nerve behind the wheel as the challenge is on to find out who will win the top of the leader board accolade."
With all food and drinks included and the opportunity to race someone else's new car instead of your own, when the limited numbers Club invitation special deal was announced the phone rang off the hook. The places filled almost overnight and so our members will be part of the group of only 40 participants in the all-day event.
Spectators are not permitted unfortunately as the day is really full on (when not competing people will be driving over the 4WD circuit or going on simulators) but we will have photos. In case you are wondering why our Club was approached it is because of the Toyota brand connection and recent Nationals publicity.

Eric is to be congratulated for his efforts in putting this track day together and we intend to make this a recurring event in the Club calendar.
Interclub Challenge - Sunday 27 September 2015 If we weren't doing enough this month the Club has also been invited to attend the following event on Sunday the 27th of September 2015. If members haven't been able to attend any of the other events then this one is new for us as part of seeing whether or not we are interested in participating in the whole group of challenge events in 2016. if there are any questions then please PM me.
It should be noted that a minimum of four cars is needed to make up a Club "team", so individual entries are usually not accepted.
Entries are now open for InterClub Event 7 – Bitumen Motorkhana – September 27
