Toyota 86 facelift

Given the 86 has always offered 147kW, expect next year's revised version to deliver up to 155kW
"Engineers have focused on
friction reduction engineering and a more efficient intake manifold
design that will boost power and torque by around five per cent, while
improving fuel efficiency by up to seven per cent."

The wider and vented front and rear fenders, along with the new side skirts and 18-inch alloy wheels shod in tires size 245/40 up front and 265/35 at the back, round out the exterior upgrades.
Inside, the cabin was fitted with a full roll cage, bucket seats with four-point seat belts, a new race-spec steering wheel and numerous other appointments.
For the performance upgrades, Gazoo Racing made use of all the components it developed for GRMN Sports FR Concept shown at last year's Goodwood Festival starting with the addition of a twin-charger system combining a supercharger and a turbocharger for the boxer engine. Along with other improvements, output is lifted to 325hp (330PS) and peak torque to 431Nm (318 lb-ft).
A 6-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels through a mechanical limited slip differential, with Gazoo Racing also making changes to the suspension and brakes.
Whether or not the Toyota tuner will offer the car in production guise, remains to be seen.

Increased power and efficiency is welcome, but lets hope it looks better than that rendering!

Agreed, a case of series2 not evolving well looks wise.

The Toyota 86 and the Subaru BRZ are receiving new updates this year for the Japanese market.

Easily the biggest change is the introduction of the new 86 “style Cb” edition, which receives an entirely new look. The ‘Cb’ stands for ‘Cool Beauty,’ and Toyota says that it puts a focus on fashion sense. The car gets a new front bumper and grille, an elongated nose and new oval-shaped headlights along with a two-tone paint scheme.
On the inside, the new 86 Cb gets a leather steering wheel and a new instrument panel which incorporates wood grain.
Toyota says the updated 86 car has revised power steering that results in a more light and natural steering feel and a more rigid body, though Toyota also says ride comfort is improved.
Over at Subaru, the exact same changes are coming to the steering and ride quality of the BRZ, though the car gets a few unique interior appointments. The new BRZ gets some satin silver interior bezels on the steering wheel spokes and shift panel.

None of this is news. Different renders with a sports concept along with a limited edition run they did for Japan, to appeal to women making the car more feminine. Not that the 86 already looks like a female version to the BRZ male counterpart.

I call BS on pumped rears running 265's. The current chassis can take 10's easily, not that it even needs them unless it goes forced induction. So many morons run 9.5" all around and ruin the handling. My 7.5's fill out the front okay but the rears just need less offset. For grip the stock 215's are fine once you get a better compound (not the primacy's they run stock on).
