Footwell foot rest removal.
Having some difficulty working out how to remove the drivers footrest, as I'm ripping out all the interior because racecar, it will not be required. Im at a point where I am tempted to just pry bar the thing out and be done with it, but I'm preserving as much as possible to onsell to get some much needed $$$ into that race bits fund.
If anyone knows how it is fastened on, and how to remove it with minimal damage, that would be ace.

Look at the surface the foot goes on, you'll see some circle outlines, these caps unscrew and the dead pedal comes off.

I would recommend leaving it there. It does come in handy.

It is well worth keeping and it can be adjusted away from you if you have longer legs.

Not really required as this is a time attack car. If my foot is resting I'm going too slow

I think it would still be beneficial to keep, as there will be times on the track when you dont have to change gear. It's also good to support yourself with
It dosnt really add any weight either

The footrest will stablise you under hard cornering. Every racecar has a footrest. I installed one in my car after competing without one. At least fabricate one to the exact location after fitting the race seat.

Every time attack car i have built has had a footrest. You need one to help brace yourself when pulling 2+ g through a corner.
If you can do hairpins and pull through 3rd gear corners flat without a footrest, then your car is too slow.
