Removal of electric power steering from SW20

Hi all,
I'm considering removing the electric power steering from my sdub racer in order to reduce weight.
Have any of you done this before?
Do I just need to remove the motor?
I assume that the steering isn't much heavier when driving at speed?
Thanks

Mr Glengineering.

Can't really help with the removal BUT since my P/S isn't working, I can confirm that at speed above 30km/h or so, there isn't much, if any, difference with a P/S car.
I was also thinking of removing the motor if I can't figure out how to fix the P/S.

I would recommend you disconnect the power steering and bring the car to the track for a few laps to see if you like the feel or not
