AW11 std radiator capacity?

I m considering this:

Now everybody selling radiators says they are bigger volume and cooling capacity than OEM.  What I can't find is what the OEM capacity IS - to see how much BS is being thrown up...
 
I do plan to go W2A later and I currently need to replace fans at the front anyway, and this looks good to me - unless it is a downgrade over OEM or something silly.

    seems a bit cheap. be wary of some aftermarket aluminium radiators as the size of tubes used aren't always ideal.
     
    there is nothing wrong with the stock system, if there isn't anything wrong with your current radiator I wouldn't bother replacing it.

    I'm with feral here, a lot of the cheap alloy stuff has oversized tubes of poor design, and often the end tanks are too big and dont fit correctly. Ive seen quite a few radiators for other makes and models that have had 48mm cores with 75mm end tanks.

    The stock system has quite a lot of headroom, im at just shy of triple factory output, and the stock radiator has been sufficient, even with an intercooler heat exchanger in front of it.

    In my case a previous owner did not look after the car and a large part of the cooling system is corroded badly, so I would expect the current radiator to spring a leak at some point (as well as needing extra room for an extra radiator for W2A setup and the broken fans).
     
    I was wondering how I missed that it was for a SW20 (I have an AW11) but when i looked around the shroud by itself has all the details for the SW but says it is for an AW11.
     
    So I think they made a mistake and changed it.  So this would not be for my car anyway, so now I am NOT buying this...
     
     
    That is good information regarding core/end tank missizing.  Do you know what is considered a good ratio between the two?

    I can't really comment on a ratio between end tank and core, more as a lot of the cheaper chinese alloy radiators just don't fit from oversized end tanks etc.
     
    I had a bit of a look around for you, and i came across a company called Fenix, which are originally from NZ, i have heard of them before, but i can't say from experience whether they are good or not. I had a bit of a look online, and i haven't found a bad thing about them, so it's up to you to do your research if you want to use them.

    Unfortunantley we get shafted compared to the other two models of r2, particularly in off the shelf options for a lot of parts, mishimoto for instance make radiators and elec fan/shroud kits for the other two models.
     
    As for room with another water to air head exchanger, as long as you dont retain a/c, its really easy, if you do there is a bit more work involved. I run the large frozen boost core with a standard radiator behind it, and standard fans on the back.

    There's a chap on Toymods who may also browse here rarely, works for an Aluminum radiator business in Sydney and has owned a few AW11's, only recently sold one a few months back.
     
    PM me for his username/contact details, he can supply a radiator that is proven to fit and work correctly. The advice above though that unless you have an unrepairable factory one, you won't see much measurable difference in an aftermarket radiator; the AW11 cooling system is quite good.
    I can attest to this after driving around with a BHG and only getting overheating due to system over-pressurising. I once overheated and had to drive over 2 hours home. Once everything cooled and I filled the system back up, I got home without any further issues.
