Lifter measurements

G'day all, today I measured my Gen3 lifters before I install my cams just incase I need to get new shims.
I measured the lift and shim together.

Intake (from cam gear back)

1. 6.02
    6.02
2. 6.01
    6.06
3. 6.01
    6.02
4. 6.01
    6.00

Exhaust (from cam gear back)

1. 5.92
    5.93
2. 5.97
    5.98
3. 5.99
    5.94
4. 5.95
    5.99

There seems to be one or two lifters which are taller than the others, are these results normal?

I'm going to install the cams tomorrow and measure the valve clearances. Hopefully they fall within the OE specs.

Cheers.

did you measure the clearance? the idea of shims is they come in diff sizes so you can fit thicker or thinner ones to increase or decrease the gap as required.

so yeh, I wouldn't excpect all the shims and lifters to be exactly the same.

Cams are going in tomorrow, I think considering the highest difference is under .1mm I won't have too much to worry about.

I really don't want to be bothered ordering new shims, it's just another delay I don't need.

Cams are in and torqued. All the valve clearances are within spec.
Now I just need my ATS cam gears to turn up so I can start degree-ing them.
