Up for sale is my complete, running 3SGE which has been fastidiously maintained its entire life.
When I purchased my SW20 6 years ago the engine and chassis bore 135,000kms, engine removed at 211,000 kms as I'm now undertaking my 5SGTE/E85 swap.
During my ownership the engine has never broken down...ever, in fact it has literally never skipped a beat due to both;
A) driving my car with mechanical sympathy and;
B) overly and preventatively maintaining my car.
Timing and ancillary belts changed at 100,000 kms and timing belt again at 137,000kms.
Clutch changed (Exedy HD) at 160,000kms.
Engine oil changed every 2000-3000kms (full synthetic either Penrite Ten Tenths or Castrol Edge).
Box Oil Changed every 10,000kms (last fill was Royal Purp Synchromax prev. Penrite w/ Lucas Oil friction reduction additive).
Runs iridium plugs, prev copper, no oil emulsion, heat discolouration or tarnishing on plugs (burns healthy and clean).
Always run on BP 98, not a drop of anything but.
No engine smoke, ok cold start (I suspect the starting voltage was always an issue as the car ran a Pulse dry cell which was slightly too small in terms if CCA), car starts first turn in the dead of winter on trickle charger.
Head never removed, compression tested fine at last check (some 15,000kms ago).
This car was never a daily car, always my second car as I have always had works cars/other forms if transport.
Loved and cared for, great bargain for any p-player or 3S owner looking to do away with engine trouble.
Gearbox is in excellent condition if a little notchy but it's never been an issue. I noticed years ago that the car was developing the prototypical 2nd gear synchro issue, immediately I began double clutching 1st to 2nd, never loading second with high rpm
either shifting up from first or down from third. I drove for many years (5) this way to conserve the engine and gearbox.
Also includes exhaust manifold and mid pipe, will also include fuel filter and shifter cables.
Located in Sydney, will transport to location within 200kms of CBD for a small fee. Everything works, just plug in and go
