MR2 Spyder repairer on the Gold Coast

Hello guys. I am a newby to MR2 ownership. I have an 01 MR2 Spyder in need of new transaxle output shaft bearings to stop the growl. I would like to know if anyone can suggest an experienced MR2 mechanic on the Gold Coast. I can drop the box no problem but not so comfortable splitting the box. Given the SMT being special, I dont trust general workshops that dont know MR2.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think terry at Road and Track (near Ipswich) may be your best bet.

It's an unusual box, Toyota themselves seem to have been very inconsistent with their knowledge, terry reportedly has the most hands on experience with these troublesome boxes.

Whats unusual about the gearbox?  Its just a run-of-the-mill C5x/6x series cogbox.

Whats unusual is the way the gears are shifted and how the clutch is actuated ;)  Thats where things get... interesting :D
