Where are you located? In Perth I have bought all my batteries from challenge batteries in Osborne Park. You can often find a higher capacity batter than stock. I try and find the highest capacity that will physically fit the space.

I have had good results from the sealed calcium type batteries.

    Cheers

    Work out what you need.

    NS60LX is recommended ($110).

NS70LX if you have a large stereo, though it is physically bigger ($166). Check the room needed.

While these guys are in Adelaide, they are absolutely on the money.

IMHO there is no need to go any further than Century (Aussie, lead's heavy, imports compromise..).

... by large stereo, I mean power, several hundred watts or so. Our '62 mini has 1.2kw in alleged power through its two amps though it doesn't draw anything near that normally and drain is modulated through a large capacitor. However it does have an alternator from GM that satisfies the doof doof guys with commodores needing an upgrade.

    It runs a NS70LX.

If you have a car that doesn't get driven often, or a male teenager who goes with his mates to the drive-in, you may also need a battery charger.

Sub $100 delivered, 5yr warranty, much better than the entry model.

    Thanks for the info...

    I am in Perth.
I previously had Optima Yellow D34. Lasted 3.5 years. All be it, I rarely used my car during the week and my alternator went a month ago.  I have started using that ctek charger in the last 6 months semi reguarly. A 2 day mid week 5min drive wont keep the battery charged enough so i need to use this little charger more. On the weekends i use the car a lot.

Ive gone with some advice and not gone for the D34 again - $265 of ebay is cheapest. Instead i will go for local Century.  But can anyone vouch for NS70LX?
Supercheap $235 but thanks to Nick batteriesdiscounters is $166

I do have a couple of 10inch subs and amp, plus a few electronics.
