4AGZE AW11 Exhaust/ Muffler Advise

I just got my self a new Super charged AW11. I love the thing but the exhaust is way to loud. You feel like your brain is going to melt if your in the thing for to long.

I am a fan of stealth so my question is this, what is a good exhaust/ muffler that is quiet (not that loud) on idle but gives you a nice natural sound when under load. I want to hear the engine not just exhaust.

My 4agze is currently running a little extra boost so I obviously don't want performance compromised to much.

Any suggestions?

A nice flowing cat like a Magnaflow, nice big barrel muffler like the factory one is, and 2.25" all the way through is a well proven combination for GZE's, even mildly modded.

Take a look at www.sv3power.com for ideas, his products are also very reasonably priced and can be shipped to Aus if you want a premade muffler and mid pipe.

The usual Japanese brands are very good too but usually come at a premium, and are a little on the loud side (legal volume though).

Thanks for that maj ill look into that. As i said as long as idle or low rpm volume is nice and stealthy ill consider anything.

The Japanese ones are nice and quiet on anything below 3-4k rpm in NA guise, very much a jekyll/hyde thing from what I've heard. A few guys on here could comment on that.

Only guys I know that run GZE's are highly tuned and all custom exhausts, but they've said back in the day when they were running nothing more than an overboost pulley, any 2.25" system with hi-flow cat did the job, and muffler size is just to quieten things down.

I'm not to sure what it is? The muffler has exit point on its left and right. The thing is pretty rusted and I cant see any noticeable markings. Its not stock that muffler, I know that much. Ive had the thing for less than a week and the original owner really knew nothing about it.

The system is still using the stock extractors and cat.

Any tips on just a good (not brain melting ) muffler? I was thinking of going back to stock but switching to a hi-flow cat.

Any suggestions forum? Is stock ok?

always been a fan of the HKS twin muffler set-up on the aw with 4agze (and 4age for that matter, it sounded awesome on the vermin's 4age!).  it's 1st muffler is larger diameter in series with a smaller diameter muffler.  very good tone and rather quiet.   my poor old one is still going, but I've had to patch it up a few times.  haha..
I now make all my own systems with that twin muffler design.

The Fujitsubo Leagalis R stainless steel model is excellent, and not that loud. I've used one for a few years and have been very happy with it (I don't like overly loud exhausts either, lol). HKS is not bad, but I preferred the sound of their NA model to that of the SC double-can one. Unfortunately, I think HKS may have gone under, at least temporarily, so you'll have to find NOS of their parts if you want anything. I haven't personally heard the SV3 model yet, but an MR2oc member seemed to think it was a bit louder than regular aftermarket ones, and more than they preferred. That being said they look well made, and look to be decently priced. Fujitsubo is probably the best made non-custom one that you can still get though. Even better than the HKS. As an example, the pipe opening on the HKS is significantly smaller than the outlet on the SC catalytic convertor, while the Fujitsubo one is almost the same size, and its pipe is much more smoothly contoured/flared at the opening than the HKS one. Plus the Fujitsubo is SS, so it will last a long, long time, but of course cost you a bit more. I think the cost difference is more than worth it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
