For sale threads locked on completion.

I have noticed that there's a few sellers deleting their 'for sale' opening post once they have sold the item.

I think it's preferable to lock the thread as they way other forums do, this way anyone else who was after the item knows the outcome and there's no need for them to search for a deleted thread.

That and if the seller offers anything else for sale prospective buyers can search the sellers history and track record of delivering what is promised. Touch wood, we have been pretty fortunate with good honest dealings here to date.

So unless there's a major opinion otherwise thats what I think we should do.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the post being deleted. If the seller just added sold to the title should be enough.

It's good to see what items sold for so everyone can see what there worth

Agree price should be left so people can have an idea of the value of different items, very handy when selling as a start point if you have no idea what to list things for.

I thought this was discussed and agreed quite some time back ?

^ can't remember it being discussed as an absolute.

Just making sure it's members preference before becoming a rule. Is much better to keep record so people get an idea of an items worth, not fair asking $250 for sw rev3 3pc wing, same as not cricket to get same for sw rev5 wing (unless you follow the latest trend of hating them)

Will keep opinion thread up for a week or so before including it as a 'please comply' - majority rules. (usually)

Get's my vote - it is very frustrating to see an empty box as the first "post" in a thread.  Keeping the initial information is more helpful to all - and isn't that what we are about?
