FS (QLD) 1987 AW11 Hardtop

Hey Guys

Up for sale is my 1987 Aus Delivered AW11

This is a regretful sale, as much as I love this car to bits I just cant afford to run two cars

Have looked into the details of this car and what I and other forum members have gathered is that this is a strange yet rare car.



As you all know, there were not many Aussie AW11's, from memory it was arround 900 or so
 
We believe the car was originally bought in as a dealer demo car. The car should be a series 2 but still retains some series 1 suspension and other features, aswell as a JDM instrument cluster.

I bought the car off another forum with a suspected head gasket issue, little did I know it was more than that. The head had corroded very badly and was unusable.

I sourced another second hand engine out of an AE82, The seller told me it had reground 252 Degree cams and high compression, I didnt believe this but upon comparison to my standard cams with a friend from Toyota, the cam lobe is substantially flatter and comes to a higher and sharper peak. 

Replaced the clutch when doing the swap with a near new exedy OEM replacement


An overview

The Good:
-Genuine Enkei RPF01's in 15" and Black (from factory) Fronts are 205/50 Yokohama S drive's (one tire has been replaced, would reccomend getting a new pair) Rears are 225/50 Toyo Proxes (near new)
-Second hand 4age, looks to have been rebuilt recently, reground cams and apparently slightly higher compression
-Koni Adjustables with (unfortunately) king springs
-Recaro LXC seats out of the super edition. Pretty Good condition, the usual warping of the side bolsters and one small tear in the drivers seat
-Good condition exedy OEM clutch
-Interior is in pretty good condition, dash has some cracks but to be expected of the cars age. Carpets are good.
-Has 2 Apexi style gauges, Water temp and Oil pressure. Sensors have been installed and water temp is hooked up, Oil temp just needs to be wired up (I still have the factory sensors)
-JVC head unit with some after market speakers installed
-Still has the factory jack and spare
-Rear LCA bushings replaced with aftermarket ones, have another uninstalled set
-Decent sounding exhaust, has a good note
-A/C has been removed for increased power and reduced weight!

The Average/Bad
-Interior is missing a few pieces here and there
-There is some rust, a small bit in the rear quarter and a couple other spots here and there. Front quarter has been repaired previously and hasnt been resprayed properly.
-Could use a respray/touch ups
-Drivers side engine mount is on its way out, makes some noise when cornering hard
-Thermostat needs to be replaced, currently the center has been removed and the car sits at a nice 60-70 degrees while driving
-Clutch and brakes need bleeding

This thing hauls pretty well, I would say its faster than my N/A SW20

Asking $2800 negotiable, Car does not come with Rego or RWC. wouldn't need too much to get it ready for one
