FRUNK release cable broken and need to get hood up

can anyone point me in the right direction to get the frunk open?...

so far i have removed the front undertray. I am in the process of trying to get the front right hand thermo fan undone and then hoping there is a secondary lever or something up there i can get to and release it. But if anyone know exactly how its done i'd appreciate the heads up.

cheers.

Here is a diagram of the cable routing anyway that may help.
I don't know if you could access it someway from under the front fender if you removed the plastic underneath cover.

Thanks for the diagram. I have a inspection scope and can see the underside of the latch. I just need to.locate the correct. Part to pull for bonnet release. The only one I can find appears to be only the secondary bonnet latch as it has not released the funk as yet. I'm buggered if I can get to the top nut for the thermo fan from underneath so looks like I have to persevere with it for now. Worst comes to worst I'll hit the hood with my grinder, get into it that way and buy another hood and paint to match. (Last resort obviously haha)

If anyone has a few detailed shots of the frunk latch that could come In handy at this point (and of course everyone just so happens to take regular pics of how good their latch looks I'm sure haha)

The bit you are after is in the center of the lock at the bottom. I can put pics up later as it wont let me do it from my phone atm.

It might be possible that you can not get to it without having to undo the two bolts holding the latch to the body.

HAHA, that is exactly how I got it. Peeled the flap back in the centre and then pushed the little latch over.

Thanks for the replies guys. Now I can start the rest of the work

    So you got it open?

A bit late maybe but here is a pic of the catch.

I had thought it may have been possible to reach up between the two fan shrouds and undo the 2 holding bolts with a ratchet ring spanner.

Mine had a small section that was already open I just had to pry it apart and flick the latch to release. I stared at the bloody thing for ages and didn't realise I was staring straight at it til I put the inspection cam up there and it stood out like dogs nuts!.

thanks for the pics guys. now I need to get a new cable and get it installed along with every other thing fixed!.
