Can I get some clarification on the Street Class. My AW11 has a 4AGE 20V Silvertop from a AE101, C56 gearbox from a AE101 Corolla, ST185 Celica front brakes, SW20T rear brakes, no carpets and no center console (Still retains the dash and door skins). Is this enough to forcibly bump me into the Circuit Class?

I had a look at your website and you do have a strong focus on the track orientated events but the car really is only lightly modded. You certainly have the skills and experience to be in the circuit class. I would like to see you in the circuit class as you really do represent Adubs in QLD motorsport (excellent work btw) but it is your call as the car is boarderline on being a street car but still on the street side. How about a class for the Adub? There has been interest from Adubs in Vic and NSW so it can be arranged. It would make a great aspect of the event and attract a few more Adubs to the event.

Its in the reg's as to how far you can go but it is more than tyres. You can modify to a point, but there is a point when it can move into the quicker class just to be fair to the closer to standard spec cars looking to have some fun and a little success in their class. I will call tomorrow and discuss.

As a question a few of us non-track types may be wondering... I havent tracked a car before but like ever other 'driver' I think I know how to drive Where does someone like myself fit into the catagories? I don't have any track times to show. Are these door to door events or time trials? I have two mr2's, one n/a other turbo, both used as dailys (one will have to be sold one day, apparently...) So, where do us 'amateurs' fit in? Keen as, its a lot more possible for me than tas!

I don't really mind which class I'm in at the end of the day, but I'd honestly like to compete against cars in a similar performance class, instead of running around the back of the pack (looking like a goose) against $10k+ workshop cars with aero packages and carbon fibre panels. My AW11 is slowly becoming more track based (V6 going in soon) but it does a lot of street driving still (The gf and I clocked 700+km in it on the weekend for an MR2 club cruise...) and I'll be driving it down the 1700km to Wakefield for the event . I'd like to enter the Street Class, but I'll be happy to settle with Circuit Class if the consensus is the car is too modified (In which case I might formally request to run it with no bumpers, guards, bonnet, engine cover or boot ;-) ).

B24 I can now confirm numerous cars which will be part of the invitational class. The biggest draw card being the LFA with Neil Bates at the wheel. The WRC Corolla will also be there, the Bates 86 tuner car will be there to promote their product to clients, a race spec Altezza,AE86 race cars, Gorilla Industries WTAC Supra and more. Will update the entries this week. Are these cars still confirmed Steve? I'll likely only be able to come down for one day if at all due to work, keen to see some of these in action, and if they will only be there for one day I'll aim for that day

dasic1 Is this mr2 only? Classes & Regulations The regulation on classes is to allow street registered cars to compete against their relative counterparts. Street class is for mildly modified cars to contain costs. All cars are modified to an extent, but there is a point where cars will be included in the Circuit Class Street NA under 2.2ltr Circuit under 2.2 Street over 2.2ltr/ TurboCircuit over 2.2 Invitational is for cars other than MR2’s but must follow the same guidelines. So, invitational. Don't bring the Ferrari please.
