Tim - I agree that we should choose the direction the run will take. I fully support you in not going north only to turn around. It would be best to meet up along the way as we have done in the past.
Someone needs to take responsibility for choosing the routes for events. I have done this in the past and would be happy to continue doing it in the future with suggestions VERY welcome.
Unfortunately, this meet I will be unable to do the entire day and will probably only meet and greet, chat etc at the car park and show my car to those interested. So I would rather that this drive be organised by someone actually in attendance.

Well my car's going to be ready at the end of this week now... fingers crossed. This has blown out from 3 days to 17. If it's not ready by Friday I guess I'll just be there in my Mazda. :(
