OEM parts Group Buy - PRICES PAGE 3
Why? It seems a lot of people aren't happy with paying Toyota Australia pricing for OEM Toyota parts.
How? My proposal is for Gorilla Industries to organise a big bulk order from Toyota USA and/or Toyota Japan depending on availability of parts. I will be organising this on multiple forums to get as much volume and hence discount as possible. This is not limited to MR2s, so if you want parts for your Corolla/Celica/Camry/whatever, by all means note it down. Also pass it along to any friends who'd like some Toyota parts.
When? EOI PHASE till 20 May 2011 I'm expecting people to go "this is awesome!" and put down what parts they want . During this time there will be no obligation to go ahead with your EOI. Those who provide EOIs will be quoted prices at the end of the EOI phase. This will be followed by a confirmation phase.
CONFIRMATION PHASE from 21 May 2011 till 15 June 2011 In this phase, those of you who placed an EOI, will be required to confirm that the parts are still wanted plus a FULL DEPOSIT on the parts to confirm your order. Others will still be able to join the group buy, but will have to pay the full amount when they place their order.
The Group buy will then close on the 15th June 2011 and the order will be placed with our suppliers. The goods will be shipped to Sydney, where we will distribute from here. If you'd like to volunteer yourself to be a delivery hub for any of the other states, pricing will be given to you at cost.
What should you do? Note down your EOI on IN THIS THREAD with the following details:
1. Forum username
2. Delivery suburb and state
3. VALID Toyota Part number AND the year and model of the car/engine that the part is for.
What are the hiccups/pitfalls that can occur? I can think of a few, for starters:
1. There will be parts that won't be in stock at Toyota for months. You will be notified as soon as we find out if your part is on back order and thus cannot make the group buy.
2. Timing is always an estimate, and things usually take LONGER than expected.
3. I will be running this across multiple forums so there will be delays in communication at times.
4. This is going to be a BIG task with lots of little orders, so to make my job easier, please save me the hassle of looking up part numbers for you by using the myriad of online part catalogs on the web. Be sure to post your EOI in this thread. IF you PM or email me, you run the risk of not making this group buy because I will may miss it.
