Not sure you can get a 2000 GT kit per se, though someone else with more knowledge may be able to advise otherwise? I'm having my arches custom made from a TRD widebody replica kit, currently being fitted by fibrevision in Perth WA... I will be advising this forum on their workmanship, though the guys seem to know their stuff - thing is they've had the car 2 months now and as far as I know there hasn't been much progress... PATIENCE on my part is required..

Here's a mock-up in the right colour with the Volks GTS on. Be interesting to see how the real deal machine comes out!

you got "my" steering wheel?! haha

Yeh I got the dremel, just pop over for it when you are ready. Have decided against the V6, and am going to rebuild and tune up the 3S GTE to a decent and balanced power level, not some high peak powered but laggy turbo. Hopefully somewhere aroud 320rwhp. Will be contacting Tristan in due course, been meaning to give him a ring, though his WTF phones are always busy!!

My car's due to come out of the shop in December, so I fancy a planning meeting aroud about then, and some exploratpory work to find out just what mods have been done already, and what more is required. great resource I found here:

Check it out.

Dozer - good to chat mate, see you Thursday night after work to discuss further!

Here's that link to Wolfkatz: http://www.wolfkatz.com/products.php?cat=25

I already ordered the Stage II.5 full lightweight set up with rotors. Works out at AUD$3350, delivered to my door in Perth for front and rear big brake set up, including brackets, pads, ss lines, massive slotted lighweight two peice rotors, anodised black aluminium hats, wilwood front calipers - and the rest. Nice.

Cheers

Build update pics - wide arches...

Was gonna wait until they were all on with the rear bumper and front fenders too but some progress pics won't go amiss - defo need my wheels to turn up in the next week or two to cut the arch lines in though...!

The first few pics show the totally butchered TD replice rear quarters, which were cut into small parts(!) and 'jigged' into approximate position.. The top down pic shows how much wider the ultra widebody concept car is/was than the normal replica widebody kit..

This was last week....

Popped back today for half an hour to make some decisions on the 'tubbing' underneath the wide arches, and also to advise when my wheels are due to arrive. Bothe wide arches were fleshed out from last weeks images, and the shape of the rear end is really starting to come together - the custom ultra wide body arches are massive!! Hoping the 19 x 10.5" rear rims with 275/30 tyres are enough to fill them..[88]

The pic below shows an idea of the blue outline where the higher arches are to be cut - can't finalise this until the wheels arrive though..

Just looking at the photos, because the camera angles were from quite close in, the additional custom width really doesn't come across - they're pretty huge [;^)]

Will be back in a couple of weeks (hopefully) to fit the Volks GTS rims, by which time the rear quarters will be fully and permanently glued into position, and strengthened from the inside; the rear bumper will be fitted and moulded into place, as will the boot lip, so pretty much my car's arse will have been formed ;)

Front fenders are getting some custom work to 'lift' them and strengthen them at the same time - pics will follow

UPDATE...

Arrived this week were Wolfkatz Wilwood big brake upgrade kit, took 12 days from US, delivered to my door:

Full kit comprises

Wilwood Superlite racing calipers (front);
Stainless steel custom brake lines (front);
Porterfield racing brake pads (x4)
Extention Brackets (front and rear);
All connecting bolts, fixings;

Had a few questions about the calipers - see pic below; The caliper appears to my inexperienced eyes to be "empty", though apparently the four "hollows" are in fact 'hollow pistons'.. I expected to see something else, like more obvious operating parts. Can anyone take a look at the pics below and advise?? Word from Wolfkatz is that they are complete, so I'm more looking for some education - Wolfakatz (Garrett) is a good guy and I'm in no way putting the product down!

Pics as follows:

I hope the question is obvious - I am looking to understand where the brake fluid pressure exerts and how the hollow pistons exert force onto the central cavity where the brake pads will be fitted.

Intuitively i can see the bleed nipples and connection for the stainless steel hoses. This would make me think that the internal cavity of the caliper (behind the hollow pistons) is a chamber, into which the brake fluid flows, thus pedal pressure exerts fluid pressure in the chamber, pushing the hollow pistons outward and into contact with the brake pads?

Any advice/explanation will be gratefully received!!

The build as it goes is progressing, though have hit a snag - I ordered 4 x Volks rims in August and they STILL haven't arrived. They are now holding up the entire build, which is getting more than a little frustrating.. [xo] Basically the rims are required to cut the arch lines in to the correct height/diameter.

I will post up some pics of the most recent body shop visit after this

BODYSHOP UPDATE...

So as I was saying, here are the latest pics from the body shop - after a couple of months of complete inaction, these guys are now being very helpful and friendly, and each time i visit there is progress..

Image below shows fully fixed and bonded rear quarters, custom flared to look like the ultra widebody. They're strong as hell, which I have kick tested and sat on, with no movement;

Image below is of the rear left quarter - pic shows the width quite well;

Image below shows motorcyclye fuel cap for conversion - to be cleaned up and powder coated black;

Images below shows rear three quarter views;

The depth of the panel on the rear quarter above the wheel arch will be a lot 'thinner', as the wheel arch will be cut high, like the ultra widebody demonstrator, but to avoid cutting them too high for the 19"s that will be (eventually) sat under there, I have to wait for the wheels to arrive from US. So far they've been nearly 14 weeks. Gutted with the wait like.. [xo]

Here's a couple of front shots and a rear perspective - the front guards have been lifted and flared to suit also, though the pics dont really do them justice yet. Once the sideskirts get bonded in, the whole car will start to take shape

COME ON WHEELS, TIME TO TURN UP EH...

damn...haven't looked at this thread as didn't realize you'd turn it into your build thread.

you should see if it can be moved to the showroom area or cut and paste all your posts with pics.

coming along well, might even make a countach look skinny.....hah
