3sgte oil sprayers removal & fitting

Hi, I'm about to hone the cylinders of my 3SGTE block and need to remove the little oil sprayers. The MR2 service manual doesn't show these - maybe not on all 3SGTE? What torque should I use on reinstall for the hex cap bolts on the sprayers? Is this with lubricated bolts or dry? Should I use some l..

stripped head stud socket removal

Well, I was happily stripping a 3SGTE engine and, after cleaning out the head stud caps I wasn't able to insert the splined bit in one stud and found that the cap has been stripped by some clumsy previous rebuild, see pic. Welcome to 30year old engines#@$%, too many previous owners. Any suggestions?..

Power on track, fly wheel cover

Hi guysHow you have done "Glenn Booth" -dry sump pans on your engines to keep gearbox together? - Glenn does not anwer to e-mails... How he's doing anyway? the sump pan is just great art of work.I just wonder, if the gearbox(dog box) will be pulled to pieces without any strenghtening with appr 700Nm..

WTF is this? Cam belt steel post

What is the purpose of this steel post on a gen 2 3SGTE?Mine came loose and fell down to the crank pulley and munged the belt. 😢Will it be a problem if I don't have it?I notice that the ST185 3SGTE doesn't have this post. It is only on the SW20 version.Any ideas?..

Pulling 300,000km Engine out of mr2

Hi all,Just bought my first mr2, 1996 3S-GE with around 300,000km on itNeeds a timing belt change and it has leaking gasket/seals so I'm pulling the engine out. Just wanting any ideas of anything/everything I should also replace while shes out and what I should be careful of cheers ;D..
