Anyone know much about Ringworm

Hey so I realized yesterday my "mosquito bites" where actually ringworm, I understand it's contagious and I'm using some cream for it but how contagious is it? Is it only skin to skin contact? Also anyone know how long it lasts? I've had it for about a week but only started medicating yesterday...
