Adrian will post it up on youtube for you man!
and any other footage i have
My brother took quite alot ahah
my comment,
personally i don't have a real issue with any scoring, although i can understand the fast and more dedicated racers-admins frustration.
Not having a stab at ANYONE here at all,
The way i see it, in the v8s and other racing Leagues the person who wins isn't necessarily the person who made the fastest lap time or even within the top 5 fastest lap times, just the most consistent driver on the day.
So conistancy in my books, out weighs being able to string one-two great lap times and the other 6-7 laps
2-4 seconds slower.
I dont think you should have your fastest lap time as your nominated time.
my reasoning being, the guys on street tyres even some of the cheaper semis 9 laps pushing 100% after about 3-4 laps the tyres have stuff all grip left, not to mention the less experienced guys may not have the ability to concentrate at 100% for 9 laps, as it was close to a 20minute session, and thats quite a lengthy time to be so focused.
I liked the way it was run, perhaps my only issue would be, that the amount of points the REG event holds is a bit to much as it can sway the competition quite easily.
E.G my win i came first in my category, although i am quite happy, however if i were adrian i would feel somewhat cheated, as my own lap times were not the best far from it on the day, basically due to in-experience, however what it came down to was my consistency in the REG event coming 8th outright. I think the issue was some of the more experienced drivers were a bit to big on selecting their times, and should have gone for a bit more of a conservative selection, Due to the extra traffic, and being at full peg for 9 laps.
Im over the moon i took 1st place, and hopefully i can give it another good go next year, with some more experience having some more track days, and a more balanced car-i.e semi slicks etc.
and win it without question (however that may be easier said than done) rather than ROB adrian of all his hard work throughout the 2 days due to ONE event.
I think Steve deserves a GREAT rap for putting on an outstanding event. Considering this being the second year his car was unable to run alot of people in the same position would not care if their car could not run and be crushed steve has been very humble and bent over backwards trying to run it as smoothly as possible using the help at hand, and more thank likely again come out at a financial loss.
In closing just wanted to say:
Thanks alot guys, you were all great company, Tri you are a funny dude great times again! However you seemed somewhat not as competitive as usual, ADrian you need to slow down so i can try and chase your lines and learn, Trav- nice car, very loud, good couple of chats, and was great to put names to faces, meet new people and have a good chat to them.
Ethan.
