Over the last few days since the event, I can't stop thinking about the various corners of the Wakefield track. I'm sure I'm not the only one hahaha.
I've been re-watching a lot of videos from Wakefield on youtube, which is much more useful to me now, having actually driven at Wakefield for the first time. At the event there were so many thoughts running through my mind, not to mention the beginner's nerves, but now that I've had a few days to relax and think, I've realised that there are so many little ways in which I can prepare and improve my lap times next year! I assume that it's probably the same for any beginner...the first time at the track is quite nerve-racking at times, so you don't really have a chance to properly analyse where you're losing time on each corner.
Also, at this year's event I couldn't help but stress about breaking something on my car (because I only just got it back, with heaps of power), but after seeing how well it handled the event I'll be slightly less worried about that next time.
As you can see, I'm already looking ahead to next year, and hoping to be a bit more competitive. This year I just wanted to learn the track layout and have a lot of fun, which I certainly did!
I may go to at least one trackday at Wakefield this year so I can start improving my times before next year's event.
