V6 powered cars wouldn't be in street class would they? I'd have though an engine swap would count as a modification.

It's an engine swap with a motor that never came in the car from factory, it's modified :)

No doubt about it!

Highlander
I have a standard Toyota Aurion 3.5 litre V6. It just happens to have and E153 box, Quaife LSD and a caged and partly stripped SW20 body bolted to it. Lucky it has no number plates or I could be a very confused old man.

Thanks for the input on tyres fellas. Highlander don't give Lewis anymore ideas lol. 3.5L v6 is in the Mod class tho. Technically the 3SGE BEAMS came in the SW20 but only in the late models, the 20V 4AGE never came in the AW11 tho :P but okay whatevers I won't get caught up too much in politics so long as I pull some decent times and smash PRs :D

I'm seeing the "discussion" about this should be in this class, and that should be in that class, and I'm thinking I'm glad I'm not Steve.

I'm also thinking, what class is my little car heading for.  SC (so technically over 2.0l) Nevo pulley (Modified Street), no carpet (Track?) but no cage yet (not Track?)

Then again, I'm sure I read that every one that turns up will be fitted up for a class as appropriate, it's all about having fun . . .

What a wise man. All cars are in the "Having Fun" Class. Problem solved. Reflects Admin's sentiments also i am sure until he sees a certain blue and white SW20.

Not that I'm comming to nationals or anything but reading through this post it would be crazy if Tree's car isn't classified in the street class. If v6 conversions are allowed to run in the street class a beams definately should. His car sounds pretty stock aside from running a beams which came in late model MR2's apparently anyway. Nothings his done will increase power should be pretty level pegging with some of the other cars in the class.
The regs didn't say anything about weight reduction from what I can see in the previous thread. If I was running in the street class and cared about winning I would go crazy on weight reductions. Strip that aircon Tree, thats what windows are for.

My fun will be when I am accelerating away from that blue and white SW20 down the straight :-)
All i need to be happy on the day is a car that holds together. I'm sick of building engines now.

It's true, Im not enjoying this issue of the beams engine. First, the V6 street class is group with turbo and sc powered cars with all the creature comforts of factory spec car. The beams has the power of a modified 3sge or a modified 4ge package so it must be considered as a modified street car.
What is the rwkw TREE? Does everything else fit? Tyres, interior etc?
Im yet to confirm which way to go. More debating please.

Admin, don't worry about the strarights, it's the braking points where you will have to work . Im aiming for 200+ before the kink. 1:06 is the goal.
Hope you can keep up!

Ohh I thought there was one class for street cars including turbo's and non-turbos. If Tree is running against the NA unmodified MR2's then that's not fair. He should be runnign against NA moddified 4 cylinder MR2's or be classed with the V6 conversion ones. He has too much extra power to run against the standard factory 4 Cylinder NA MR2's in my opinion. If's there's a modified 4 cylinder NA MR2 class definately belongs in there.
