I'm keen.... but I really REALLY hope that it works with the uni semester....

Would it be worth seeing if Spirit of Tasmania would be interested in doing a deal for the MR2s? ... we could end up with quite a few MR2s heading over, and october isn't EXACTLY peak season....?

SOT's the monopoly player in Bass Strait car movement. While the rear salon ocean recliner is a quiet and comfortable seat after a long drive for a day crossing, there are other attractions on the boat; (one Movie, a wander & ordinary F&B).

An old newsletter gives a benchmark:

Right now at Spirit of Tasmania, good things come in twos! You can take yourself from just $74* each way and take your car from $74* extra each way.
Simply book an Ocean Recliner for travel before 16 December 2010 to take advantage of this great offer.

Tasmania is simply wonderful, though don't get to the boat late if you bought a special ticket!

I'm in Adelaide awaiting for a Caldina's ST215 engine to arrive and resurrect XX042D, who is a black '90GT.

While 3 days might not be sufficient, I'm hopeful that he should be up and running for this event.

Merry Christmas

more than happy to help out Kevin. from past experience, people will need to book SOT early say 3 months beforehand as tickets get expensive depending on supply and demand.

Toll Shipping is another option to get your car into Tassie (Burnie). They do take passengers aswell from what I've been told.

Yep they sure do. Picked up my brothers caldina for him a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how they compare price wise with TT Line.
