Hi all,

I own a 1991 sw20 MR2 and wondered why my no.1 and no.2 fan speeds aren't working ? Could this be a blown fuse or would none of them work at all if this was the case? Yes i should probably check but will do so soon. Fan speed 3 works like a charm its just 1 and 2 aren't even turning on. No fan movement at all.

whats the go ?

twomr2`s
normally if there is a fault in the circuit like a blown fuse, bad temp sensor,A/C switch they will run all the time as a failsafe

the front 2 fans-one for A/C the other for radiator.
the one in the engine bay is controled by air temp sensor on the engine bay lid.
the front is controlled by the A/C amp via the temp switch in the radiator.

I presume you're talking about the cabin fan. Standard Toyota setup is that there is a block that has three resistors that correspond to the fan speeds. If the resistors or their connections have failed you have to get the block repaired. A decent auto-elec should be able to do this for you.

Okay I used 'auto' with my aircon and one was on. I know this is i could feel how much air was coming through the vent. There is a large difference between fan speed 1 and 3 haha.
