Aaron you are so far off the mark here it’s not even funny.
What you are saying is totally different to the point I was making. I used the example of the trackday challenge to make a point as 2 times before Steve was told we couldn’t support Toyotafest “officially” and he had not seem to understood. I did not say I will be running an event at the same time.
I have talked to the organisers of the MR2 Nationals about running a NSW club event on the same weekend as the Nationals and it was frowned upon. As I said, The MR2 Owners club is an Australia wide club . The same exclusion from running an event would apply to QLD, SA, WA and all clubs. Not just NSW.
Aaron, you say if you organise a day the same day as the QLD club does you won’t care. And that’s fair. The difference here is from that situation is The MR2 club is hosting the Nationals. How can a state branch host an event on the same day as its parent club and not have a conflict of interest?
You have to remember the MR2 club is a nation wide brand/business. At work you follow under your company right?, you don’t go out and compete with your own company and still work for them.
I hope you understand now what we mean by respect for the MR2 Nationals.
As we said earlier, the event I am sure some people will attend to, But we just can't attend the toyotafest officially.
