UPDATE
The route plan is up, it's still a draft so please give your opinions. http://g.co/maps/jn7w5
Leg 4 is probably best left for the guys returning to the northern suburbs. I suggest parking here at Victor Harbour. If anyone has a better suggestion let me know.

Quite a long cruise at 221km if you do the whole route (187km if you skip leg 4). It'll be a good trip to bring wives/partners on, I will be.
As usual no burnouts/antisocial behaviour.
I'll have a UHF handheld with me and might have a spare but if others could bring them too that'd be great.

Meeting at 9am on the 15th April at this location. Departing no later than 930am.

Hey guys,

Never too early to start planning. Perhaps we could start a consistant schedule of these. Say the first or second weekend of every month and work around that. What do you guys reckon? I get the feeling that the local MR2 scene could be on the way up and will only get better once we start actively promoting ourselves.

I went to a Classic Celica Car Club SA monthly meet tonight and they're all for us attending as a group to one of their monthly cruises. They do these on the first weekend of every month. So we could start planning on doing something with them in May. The CCCSA has plenty of members who drive Sprinters, late model Celicas and etc so we'd fit right in.

As for an April meet, what are your suggestions? We may have more people attending next month so perhaps a longer, more relaxed cruise would be a good idea? I'll be packing tools and spares, you know how it is. If we can get 6 MR2s on the road together that'd be fantastic.

Yeah I am trying as hard as I can to get mine up and running, I have got a few parts that I required from road and track while im up here. I think im going to be putting the engine in soon but without the hoist as i still havent gotten off my a** to organise a sparky yet, but next week i will start putting it in, so fingers crossed it wont be long after that..

But sounds good, and as u said we are slowly growing, and meets every month sounds good to me, i am easy with anything, and will be driving amys (wifes) hyandai until mine is ready to go...

Good idea MRVirgin, I think we should be aiming for the second weekend of the month at this stage for these MR2 meets. I agree that once we get some regular momentum going, then it'll be easier to build it up from there. Joining in with the CCCSA events sounds good too, good opportunity to network and meet new people etc.

Re April meet, I think we should do a more 'relaxed' drive from Adelaide to Strathalbyn for lunch, then maybe coming back through Meadows along the back roads. What do you guys think?

Cheers

Would definitely be keen to meet up for a cruise, though availability for me can be a bit hit or miss. I'll keep an eye on this though and hope work is kind to me.

Have you guys heard of the Collingrove Hillclimb? There's a Come & Try on the 21st of April. Maybe we can make this our April meet?

The cost of entry is $55 if you book in before the 30th of March, plus CAMS license which is $25 for the day.

You can get a helmet for upwards of about $60. As long as it bears the Australian Standard AS1698 mark it ought to do.

Has anyone got an engine crane I can borrow?

I need to replace the thrust bearing in mine and it'll be good to go. With the cost of the tune, rego and a tow truck all at once I'm pretty light at the moment and can't afford to buy one.
